What has someone confidently told you “everyone knows” that you know is definitely just them?
ive been told-
“Everyone knows that marrying someone is a promise not to look for another relationship. No one expects their husband to stop sleeping with other people!” - (SaId by an engaged straight man. He hadn’t discussed it with his fiancé because that would be “crass”.)
And
“Everyone knows that it’s unfair to expect the dad to keep paying for their kids if the mum marries someone with more money.” (Said as an aside by the main speaker at an academic conference)
