We don't have a big income but budget carefully so that we can have holidays.

I've just booked a trip for the end of August and I'm really pleased with what I've managed to get. There are four of us going, me dh dd (19) ds(16)

Eurotunnel crossing for our car
1-night stopover in France
10 nights self-catering in a well-equipped 3-bedroom mobile home (washing machine. large fridge freezer, A/C) in The Netherlands on a holiday park. Its set on a lake so we plan to take our paddleboard and has an indoor pool too.
1 night stopover on the way back

£1450

We haven't been to The Netherlands before so it will be something new for us. Every element can be cancelled free of charge up until a week before so we have flexibility if things change.

So excited for my holidays. My yearly solo trip - I'm off to Turkey 5* AL in late June. Away with my DH in January to Egypt

Well done! sounds exciting and well thought out, you will have a great time.

I'm waiting to get my wanderlust back, we had a 3 week mega road trip in the States last year with thousands of miles travelled. (Atlanta to Dallas and back again!)

We just couldn't get motivated to go anywhere this year but we both have a big birthday coming up in 2024, so I'm hoping I can get my mojo in gear so I can start planning.

We have a big anniversary next year and really wanted to do something for that, but it’s not to be.

Nope, can’t afford it

Lizzieregina · 17/09/2023 21:13

Sounds lovely!

I’m a last minute Charlie and would
never be organized almost a whole year ahead!

However, my husband has some health issues right now, but once we have a better picture of what’s next regarding testing and treatment, we’ll probably try and get something organized for next summer.

Lesina · 17/09/2023 21:15

That sounds fabulous. Enjoy the anticipation and have a ball when you are there. Holidays are just the best :)

LifeIsGreatForUnicorns · 17/09/2023 21:18

We’re booked in a villa in Crete with 4 friends… hoping it will be lovely .. enjoyed our holiday AI in Thailand with them last year so hoping a SC villa will be ok? Slightly nervous but have googled it and there seems to be a few bars / tavernas near by…
