How do you live without regret when you have them

I think regret is one of the most toxic things for me. I find it very hard to let go and stop beating myself up.

how do you come to terms with something or move on or forgive yourself? Really I want to know how to stop regretting something when I have to live with the consequences forever.

It depends what kind of thing it is that you’re regretting, really.

For me, I don’t really focus on regrets because any change in my past would probably mean I don’t have this exact life now - these particular kids, that particular friend etc.

But i appreciate that don’t apply to all regrets.

You have to come to peace with them and move on. The alternative is to do something about it to change things so there is no regret.

Because what does it change? Unless you are using the regret as a force for change what’s the point- it just becomes an indulgence and excuse to do nothing.
