Belazu vegan basil pesto - help! (100% nut free?)

Hi

my little one is VERY fussy and I’m struggling to find find ideas for school lunches.

he loves pesto pasta but obviously cannot have the normal one as it contents nuts but I have come across this brand which states ‘free from nuts’ but mentions pine kernels in the ingredients.

I don’t want to risk any issues at school with allergies, but as it states ‘free from nuts’ would this be acceptable?

Should be fine. Pine nuts (kernels) aren't nuts.

Pine nuts, technically, are seeds not nuts. I guess that's why it's saying nut free. Whether the school would see it that way I don't know.

We struggle a bit with this too. We have sometimes found that ours will eat pasta with salad dressing on (vinegarette mainly) which could be worth trying
