Can anyone remember this? Shops shut for 10 minutes either 2014 or 2015

It was something to do with the Queen, I was very puzzled to arrive at Tesco local and find it shut and rechecked the time on my phone.

Can't remember which date it was and why! Would be really grateful if anyone remembers

Was it the 2-minute silence to commemorate 100 years since the start of the First World War? That was 2014, at 11am on 11/11/14

@MargaretRiver thank you for that, alas not the right time!

It was at 7pm and must have been a Sunday as I went to Tesco Local as Asda shut at 4pm.

I swear it was something to do with the Queen and I was really confused about why it was shut until someone explained.

7th July 2015 was the 10th anniversary of the London bombings. There would have been some sort of remembrance I'm sure on that day but I looked it up and it was a Tuesday.

7pm is an odd time of day to have a 2 mins silence etc. Could it have been the anniversary of a tragedy local to you? Hope you work it out!

Could it be licensing laws? There is, or was, something about times shops are able to sell alcohol on Sundays and I think they close for a short time to put up or take down barriers to the alcohol aisles.

Royal visit to your area?

Perhaps I misheard the man I asked nearby why Tesco was shut and he said clean instead of Queen and they'd had an accident - this has always puzzled me and I was thinking about it this morning
