Heath Visitor Comment

This comment from the Heath Visitor is something which I have thought about ever since she said it.

I had DC1, it was a difficult birth, I needed stitches. The Heath Visitor came to check on my stitches, I made a joke comment 'I'm never having sex again!' Her reply was 'well your husband will leave you'. I was taken back by that thinking, that's a pretty damaging comment! 10 years a later I still think of it now.

Am I being sensitive, or was that a pretty unprofessional thing for her to say?'

thanks. it's one of those moments when i wish i had said something. it's a pretty damaging comment. i like to think she was joking.

That’s totally awful. Imagine if you had been left with a birth injury that actually meant you couldn’t comfortably have sex again? You should just accept that your husband will leave you? What about “in sickness and in health, for better for worse”?
