Ideas for a 'grown up' pizza party?

An old friend and her husband are coming to visit tonight. We were good pals in our teens and used to have pizza nights at each others houses - basically just takeaway pizza, sweets and films. It was our thing and I have such fond memories.

So tonight we are going to do pizzas, but in a bit more of an adult dinner party kind of way. I've bought pre-made dough as I'm a lazy arse but has anyone got any suggestions for some delicious toppings? And sides?

My head is full of fancy oils and sides but I need a coherent plan before I head to Sainsburys!

That sounds like a lovely night.

I love a pizza that's topped with Parma ham, rocket and long strips of thinly cut parmesan after its out the oven.

Or a posh margarita with good mozzarella and fresh basil. Keep it simple but use good quality ingredients.

Sides, maybe a panzanella salad and a green salad.

Olives, tapenade and some Italian style crackers or bread sticks to start.

And a nice bottle or red.

Sainsburys do little tubs of grilled artichokes that are nice on pizza.

And black olives.

Rocket.

Proper mozzarella not the shredded stuff.

also love caramelised red onions cooked spinach and a sprinkling of goats cheese on.

perhaps a selection of thinly sliced different mushrooms tossed in garlic and olive oil too as a topping I love mushrooms on pizza

Fig and gorgonzola with a drizzle of honey before serving is delicious. I'd maybe do a homemade, apple coleslaw and a simple green salad with fresh herbs running through it.

We have a pizza oven, a winner is always:

Drizzle olive oil of base
goats cheese
figs
pear

cook then top with rocket, parma ham and balsamic glaze

Caramelised onion

I like simple pizzas but good ingredients.
So good mozzarella and basil, with a drizzle of decent virgin olive oil.

We had an adult pizza night recently for visiting friends. I would recommend a citrus-based dessert, lemon or lime. It's refreshing after spicy pizza.

My friend did 3 different pizzas and made a lovely Greek salad and another salad that was some sort of buckwheat base. All served on large platters. We had some board games and cocktails and then ice cream. Was a fab night back when I was visiting my home town a few weeks ago.

Thanks so much for these! Got some goats cheese and made some caramelised red onions, some blue cheeses, fresh herbs and hams, spinach, rocket and a few other bits as well as some olives and ciabatta. Plus a new red wine to try!

This! But personally I'd leave off the figs as I hate them 😂
