What to do in London this afternoon

My niece (23) is staying for the weekend so we are heading into London with our boys (13 and 15). Got Tower Bridge booked at 3.15 but need ideas of where to go after. Was thinking Tower of London but would be quite expensive for 5. Boat trip? What would you do? Sky Garden is fully booked unfortunately and I had thought of Pong in Borough Market but you have to be 18 on Saturday

Borough Market is nearby if you like markets?

i don’t think you need to book. We were by the river last night and really lovely and lots of people sitting outside. Also I think the viewing deck At the tate modern is open again.

The Garden at 120

The Thames river walk from London Bridge to towards Waterloo station is fun lots to see and do

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 16/09/2023 10:47

Uber boat down the Thames or out to Greenwich?

PixiePirate · 16/09/2023 10:47

I think I’d walk along the Southbank, there should be plenty going on there in terms of entertainers and street food at late afternoon on a Saturday. Witness for the Prosecution is showing a little further along at County Hall.

Am following as we're heading to London next weekend for the first time in a few years.

What is Pong at Borough market?

Bobbster · 16/09/2023 12:35

Pong is 9-hole crazy golf, not been but looks quite cool. No under 18s on Saturdays which seems a bit bonkers

The Great River Race is happening right now. 100’s of small boats rowing a marathon down the river from Wapping to Richmond - they just set off so you’ll start to see them coming through central London soon - wonderful sight!

What a gorgeous day for this. I would find a spot on Southbank of river to watch this go by for sure.

Would love to watch the boats, thanks for the tip.

Just realised it's called Plonk not Pong!
