Knitting question (I’m probably overthinking it)

I’m about to finish a baby blanket I’ve been knitting. I’ve been a knitter for years but this is my first big project for six or seven years as I’ve gotten really into crochet.

The blanket is stockinette with a garter border to hopefully stop it rolling. I didn’t follow a pattern. I just have the last four rows (the garter border) to do.

But when do I cast off? On the four row or do I knit four rows and then cast off on an extra?

You need to cast off on a right side row.

cast on and cast off don't count a rows, so knit the same number of rows for your border as you did at the beginning then cast off Smile

Yes, cast off either knit-wise or purl-wise depending on which way round your work is

Yes four rows then cast off.

Thanks for the advice. I’m glad I asked because 4 rows then cast off was definitely the right choice.
