I was in work all week long and surrounded by people who came into work, sick. Various different levels of sick. Many colds and one person even had the scutters.

Friday night, in time for the weekend and I am now ill. My only exposure of illness was from work.

Is it a right of passage just to pass on their infection diseases to anyone.

This stuff has to be banned outright from work places unless if you work in healthcare. It should be made illigal for work places to allow sick people in.

I went into work to work and to earn a wage not to get sick.

So will you not be going into work next week OP? The common cold will cause you to be contagious for up to 2 weeks...

You are beyond unreasonable. If we stopped going to work because of a sniffle, a lot of us would be on constant sick reviews. So like my husband who has to reply on SSP when off sick - should he not go to work if he has a sniffle, thus not get paid, meaning our income takes knock and then we can’t afford our mortgage?!

Most people don't get paid if they don't work. I'm going to assume you don't have that issue.

My immune system is shot courtesy of an illness in my teens which fucked it up. I'd be out of work more than I was in it if I stayed off all the times i was unwell.

Plus, having kids in school means they bring all sorts home. Even when they don't get sick with it themselves I end up with it, like Christmas in 2019 when the sick bug flew through school. My kids were fine, yet I caught it.
