I'd rather wait until we see all the evidence honestly, surely that's the wisest course of action seeing as we know literally nothing as of right now?

And if the police cant act, ie there isnt evidence to progress to prosecution, then thats that.

You cant then accuse or try someone on the telly because the evidence cant be progressed legally

That is literally trial by media, no checks and balances and it could apply to any of us.

Gosh I'd think it would be a bit funny if C4 had sent that letter to RB but tomorrow turns out its actually not about him!

The time that all that Huw Edwards stuff came out, there was some political story that got buried and forgotten and true to form, I cant remember what it was now!

So. If this is RB allegedly having done bad things-

SERIOUSLY. We have a judicial system. We have courts. We have juries.

If this is a 'hold the press' moment, we're fucked.

None of the other illegal, corrupt, contemptible, grifting actions of our government can hold the press.

This is true. Despite all the rumours that flew around about Saville, the substantial story came out well after he died, and long after justice could be done.

Remember how the BBC and police jumped the gun over Cliff Richard? That didn't turn out well for either of them.

Dispatches conducting a trial by TV rather than taking their evidence to the police would be reprehensible, and probably damage any chance of any alleged crime being brought to trial.

I just can’t see why Dispatches would undertake a 3 year investigation (if that’s what it was) about a celebrity.

This. Unless of course the investigation concerns a celebrity accused of child abuse, rape, murder, or something like that (i.e. not just a celebrity acting like an entitled prick).

I have been told stuff about DW and someone one of my dcs was at school with who was very young at the time - legal but inappropriate. Not worthy of Dispatches though or a ST expose.
