Hi all, so we found out last Saturday (9th) that DS was exposed to chicken pox, most likely on the Tuesday before. We’re due to go to Greece for a week this Tuesday 19th. To try and save the holiday we got DS vaccinated on Monday this week (earliest appointment we could get). It was about 6/7 days after exposure, so know that it was just out of the ideal 3-5 day period.
he showed a spot on his leg on Tuesday, one more the following day - neither raised or filled with anything, so pharmacist said it was likely a post vaccine reaction.
fast forward to this morning, five days after the jab, and DS was just shy of a temp this morning, 37.9 and hasn’t been his usual self. Then this evening we noticed about 5 spots in his groin area, a couple look like they could have something in them.
what do people think? Could it be from the vaccine? Or is it likely he’s got the pox from his exposure? Has anyone had any experience with a similar situation?
at this stage it feels like us being able to go on the holiday is unlikely 😔- does anyone know what the insurance process is? Do we speak to them first, or the airline? Or do we need it confirmed by a doctor?
