Anyone know Tenerife hotels?

Wondering if anyone has been to the H10, Sheraton La Caleta (Tivoli), Vincchi La Plantacion or the Jardin Tropical in Costa Adeje in particular? Trying to plan a half term break for me, DP, DD (four), my elderly mum and my sister and they all seem quite similar.

Ive never been to any of those hotels but been to Hovima La Pinta afew times and its great, very family friendly!

Haven't been to them but looked at a couple of them - we ended up booking the Gran Tacande which was absolutely amazing. You often get a deal with them which brings it to the same price Just an amazing hotel and fab location, if it might be another option for your list.

Ooo thank you, will have a look at them both x

Love La Pinta we've been several times great for a family

Another vote for Gran Tacande at Costa Adeje. It was a few years ago but it was lovely.
I would recommend B&B or half board as restaurants around and about are available and are very good.

The Tivoli La Caleta has been being refurbed for about a year or so - not 100% if it’s actually open yet. It was due to open in June and had been pushed back several times so we stopped booking until there was more clarity (I work in travel). It’s basically in La Caleta, as the name would suggest, so if you want to be close to bits in Costa Adeje it’s further out.

Vincci La Plantacion is a gorgeous hotel. It’s very quiet and tends to be mostly Spanish guests. It’s on a very steep hill, not sure if mobility is an issue.

Dreams Le Jardin is a mixed clientele. It’s over the other side of Costa Adeje so depends what you want to be near. I don’t think it’s as lovely as either the Sheraton was pre-refurb or the Vincci La Platanacion is now. But it’s a fine resort. I have had some complaints about the AI there in terms of value for money - so depends if you plan to go AI or a different board.

Which H10 are you looking at?

The GF Fanabe in Costa Adeje was lovely. Not far from the beach and a variety of board basis.

I would add to the recommendations for Hovima La Pinta, it’s really well located.

Lots of the Iberostar hotels are great: Selection Anthelia, Las Dalias, Bouganville Playa.

Also Bahia del Duque, Baobab Suites, Jardines de Nivaria.

I stayed at the H10 gran tinerfe last year

Thought it was pretty decent. There's activities if you want that sort of thing, the team are really friendly. There's a small gym and yoga studio, they do pilates and yoga classes. The little coffee and ice cream place in the resort is fantastic!

The food won't blow you away, but it's decent enough, I had no complaints. There's a couple of different places to drink, one of the bars only opens in the evening.

We paid a bit extra and had a nice room, loads of space.

Oh this is so useful thank you! We are planning to do BnB as we like eating out at night - have been to La Caleta and El Duque pre children and loved both would be nice to be round there although we used to stay at an apartment in Torviscas and drive or taxi which was fine. Also quite fancy a beach nearby for DD.

I will look into all those hotels, love a personal recommendation, although Bahia del Duque and Baobab too pricey for us, they are about £10k for all of us rather than £5k to £7k. The H10 Costa Adeje Palace is the one that was coming up on Jet2.

Have you looked at GF Victoria? Haven't been yet but we've booked for next year after looking at lots in Adeje.

cherryassam · 15/09/2023 20:12

When you say half term do you mean this October?

The only other one I would have a look at that I don’t think has been mentioned is Riu Palace Tenerife, you can book through Tui.

problembottom · 15/09/2023 20:52

Yes this October! Last minute I know. Thanks so much.

Are you a travel agent, would it be worth me booking with someone like yourself?

I work for an agency yes, although mostly management now managing a team of agents, part time, as well as part time consulting for other agencies and working freelance on a few projects.

My recommendation would be to find an independent travel agent you trust, preferably one which offers packages from a range of operators. If you don’t have any local independents, Hays are a good chain who usually provide good service. Always check what you’re quoted by going direct to the operator if it’s a package, or by pricing it up individually. Most agents will try and match a price to get your business.

In terms of packages, it’s difficult to go wrong with Jet2 - I’ve very very rarely had major problems with them, and their customer service is usually very good. Booking direct with them is also an option - but agents can sometimes have access to different deals.

I just got back from the 'GF GRAN COSTA ADEJE' with my mum and my son (5), he loved it so much, the kids club was fantastic and hotel was really relaxed can't fault it

Am I seeing the photos incorrectly or is the loo open to the room?
