Where have these doves come from?

There is a terraced house in my town with a roof absolutely covered in white doves. Sometimes the doves sit on the pavement or the road, and sometimes they sit on the drive, but they never sit on any of the other houses.

Why is this? They have no tags on, they don't seem to be tame- and there are no other birds so I don't think it can be feed, or the pigeons would have chased them away! I tried to take a photo but people looked at me funny.

There are loads of doves locally - people have them released for funerals and weddings apparently and the blasted things just keep multiplying. They like particular houses according to how warm they get and love to get under solar panels.

Birds gather on roofs with no loft insulation where they can enjoy the warmth rising through the roof. True.
