Can't work under manager

I love my job , but I can no longer work under my manager. He has never done my job, or the job of others in the team . He has ended up in his current position due to job losses during the pandemic and the team growing from there , so he has just ended up in this role .

I am massively over performing, and I am very good at the job. But I just can't work under him he micromanagers, doesn't listen and just can't do that job . My question is what would you do. I could just leave and find a new job or would you speak to people above him and raise concerns ?

It's not just me that feels like this , but I'm not sure the other people in the team would flag concerns higher up unless asked. It's not that I dislike him, he just can't do the job. And is being carried by people who can.

I feel for you OP because I’m in exactly the same boat. I adore my job and I feel I’m good at it. But my team are horrendous. They’re gossipy and talk down to people who aren’t in their select group. I’ve faced discrimination because of my ADHD and I know they gossip behind my back. All my team are on annual leave Today which just leaves me and honestly it’s the best day I’ve had so far!
Im considering putting in my notice as I’ve had enough of working with them. It’s such a shame though because I love my job so much.
