If so can you help me with the various cycles

I think mine's a series 4
What do you need?
Lots of the programmes are customiseable eg easy care goes on to 40 degrees by default, but you can turn it down on the touch panel.

GreenMonty · 15/09/2023 10:05

I use EasyCare at 40 with speed/eco which brings it under 1 hour

Paddingtonthebear · 15/09/2023 14:35

Thanks. There is a 40 degree mixed wash cycle which says cottons and mixed fabric up to 3.5kg and 1400rpm. This is a quicker wash than the others at just under an hour. But when I use this it is so noisy on the spin, I can’t understand it as I’m not overfilling it at all. Today was just one large white sheet, some school socks and a couple of school t shirts. It sounded like it was going to take off! Is that normal? It’s only 6 months old. Or should I only be using the 2-3 hour wash cycles, that seems a bit crazy.

It's is probably under-filled and trying to balance what you have in it. That's a fast spin for a small amount of things.

PickAChew · 15/09/2023 15:16

Balancing the load is key. It's always going to struggle with most of a small load being one largr item. The length of the cycle won't change that.

DuranNotSpandeau · 15/09/2023 15:16

It has something that will sense if the load is unbalanced and alters the spin to make sure the drum/belt aren't unevenly strained (can't think of a better way to put that).

If you make sure the load is full it should be a quieter spin.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 15/09/2023 15:50

You can change the spin speed on that cycle on the touch panel which might quieten it a bit.

Paddingtonthebear · 15/09/2023 15:58

They sent an engineer out who said that we are probably overfilling it. So I’ve put less in. It’s noisy on that cycle whatever is in it. I find it quite annoying that the other cycles are nearly 3 hours long!

I’m having issues with a flashing lock symbol on the control panel. Then programmes not working. Or, starting sometimes but then stopping seconds after. Please help meeeee…????

PickAChew · 28/01/2024 16:02

It's possibly your door not shutting properly, @Manoutofdepth

Manoutofdepth · 28/01/2024 16:15

Thanks for the reply. Yes,definitely an issue with the door/lock. Was wondering if anyone else had had similar experience? Hoping for a solution before calling out a technician. I’ve done all the suggested resets etc..

pasteloblong · 28/01/2024 16:33

The newer Bosch machines are terrible. Ours can't balance, has needed new bearings - this makes the machine very noisy - and the door lock sometimes doesn't work. Ours went at 20 months old. They came and changed the bearings, but it's still unbalanced. Would never have another one.

I have a problem with door lock as well. Sometimes I have to open and close the door 20 times before it locks, drives me insane. I have tried being gentle, tried being firm, putting pressure on different parts of the door but it still takes multiple attempts.
I tend to stick to the easy care with the speed perfect wash as when I tried the super quick option it didn’t drain so I tried the spin cycle on its own and it still didn’t drain. I had to switch it off at the mains to clear the muddle it had got itself into and then just I just went back to the easy care cycle. The 3 hour eco cycle seems extremely long and I can’t see how that would be eco?

Manoutofdepth · 28/01/2024 16:50

It’s the fact that the lock light flashes when the programme is running. This then stops the programme in its tracks. Very frustrating.

GenerousGardener · 28/01/2024 16:59

I’ve got one. The lock does what the hell it likes! It may or may not lock depending what mood it’s in. I’ve found that if you keep the washing away from the rubber seal before pressing start, it tends to lock more often. What annoys me most is when I put a mixed load on, ask for a quick wash (45mins), and then it takes what ever time it likes….sometimes an hour, sometimes an hour and fifteen. I watched it the other day, it had nine minutes left, when I looked again it had shot up to fifteen minutes. Sigh…

pasteloblong · 28/01/2024 17:27

The eco cycle is ridiculously long.

DanFmDorking · 28/01/2024 17:53

Bosch washing machine door lock symbol flashing

PickAChew · 28/01/2024 21:04

There's definitely a knack to the door on ours (and DH's method of repeatedly opening and shutting it isn't it!)

Infind I have to shut it firmly without slamming then give it a nudge beneath the catch with my knee and, importantly, give it a few seconds to think (which DH doesn't do). Yours sounds like a repair job though, @Manoutofdepth

Manoutofdepth · 28/01/2024 21:09

I think you’re right Pickachew. Ive tried all the recommended hacks, videos,Bosch recommended trouble shooting ideas. Off to the technician I go. Thanks to everyone for their comments and advice.
