I've been taking it for a week I'm wrecked. I take it at night as it makes me tired and im sleeping through the night which I wasn't before. So that's great.

But when will I stop being half asleep during the day?!

And the headache. Will that go away?

I've never had headaches with it so can't help with that.

What dosage are you on as you could split it to am and teatime for instance. You may also prefer taking the whole dose later in the day. It should be perfectly safe to play around with the timings gradually to find the perfect one for you.

Check with your pharmacist or GP if you are worried about doing this.

Stick with it, this time next week you'll be feeling much better I'm sure.

My first two weeks on it were horrendous, I dreaded taking it each day. Tiredness, headaches, like a zombie and my vision was so blurry I couldn't use my phone.

It did pass though, I hope you feel better very soon.

What dosage are you on? When I went up to 30mg I could have slept 24 hours. But 10mg and 20mg the side effects settled after a few weeks.

Thank you I hadn't thought of splitting it.

It's now having the opposite effect of giving me insomnia so I'll have to try switching it. I've barely slept the last few days and it's agony.

Also the anxiety and panic attacks it's been giving me, my god.

God I hope so because I feel dreadful. Tired, can no longer sleep, anxiety.

20mg. Started off on a half dose too!

If you’re still feeling like that in a few days, go back to your GP so they can try you on a different drug.

Citalopram saved my life but only once they got the dose right. Other people do better on other anti-depressants.

I didn’t have headaches but the tiredness was awful. I slept all night, woke up, took the kids to school, came home and set an alarm for school pick up time, then went to bed when the kids did.

I also whacked on about 70 pounds while on it.

Bettyboobaloo · 18/09/2023 23:14

My partner has been on it 20 years and sleeps all the time. Fed up with it. Dr doesn't seem bothered

I agree with the pp who said to stick with it, if you can. I struggled with a headache for about a week, and then it went away. Overall my symptoms were much improved being on it. Of course, everyone reacts differently, so this is just my experience. Good luck.

EmpressaurusOfCats · 19/09/2023 04:23

Yes, but don’t stick with it for too long without checking with the GP.

Did the tiredness pass on 30mg? I’ve just increased to 30mg and I’m so tired and lethargic. I’m on week 9 and always take it first thing in morning x
