What are some of the most beautiful songs or pieces of music you can think of?

Anything! I like coming across tunes I've not heard before or rediscovering those I've forgotten about.

I suppose hardcore EDM or heavy metal might be a bit much, but then some people might find them beautiful

It's a metal band but I promise you the song is not their normal stuff and if you listen to it you will see what I mean about it being a beautiful song. Slipknot Snuff. Gives me goosebumps every time

Pretty much the whole album "L'Orchestre de Louis XIII" by the Concert of Nations (dir. Jordi Savall). My favourite period of music.

I expect to be derided but Ghost Stories album - Coldplay and in particular the Sky Full of Stars track is a short song but one that is so joyful.
I like Coloratura - this is a very long track (eg ten minutes ) but I find it very soothing.
Coldplay is my short answer.🙂

I randomly came across an Irish folk musician called Colm Mac Con Iomaire whose music I think is beautiful. Especially an album called And Now the Weather. I had a few tracks from it feature in my wedding.

Also Nick Drake, especially the Pink Moon album.

I probably find Sinéad O'Connor's voice the most beautiful I have heard. She was able to sound tender, vulnerable and haunting one minute and then ferocious and mighty the next. I'll be singing is a lovely song. Her sad death is such a loss to the world.

On her show last night Jo Whylie interviewed new artist Sekou and he played a couple of his songs… I found his voice mesmerising - Better Man was one I loved Smile
