Does Saffiano leather look & feel like vinyl? Michael Kors fans.

After S&B's exhortations to buy stuff on Vinted, I ordered a Michael Kors Jet Set tote for £40. It's lightly used as described, but everything about it screams "well made fake!"

Looking at reviews, though, it seems it might be genuine and this Saffiano leather is treated so heavily with wax that it comes up like vinyl ... so maybe the bag's genuine and the leather is what you might call fake vinyl 😳

I needed a bag this size, it seems pretty strong and I can live with getting ripped off occasionally, if I have been! But now I'm curious - if you've got a bag bought new from MK, does it feel like thick plastic?

Yes I think they do although there are so many great fakes that how would you know ?

In short, yes. I bought a backpack from MK which I felt was quite expensive and was disappointed when it arrived as it does look fake, even though it's not. Shame though, as I have a black tote bag from MK bought about 4 years ago and the quality is far superior!

You must have been disappointed in your backpack. My 'new' tote's serviceable, but I'd have been well peeved if I'd paid hundreds for it.

Am now saving up for a more leathery bag!
