Medical walking boot - how do I keep it dry?

I managed to fall over last Friday and I've fractured my foot in 3 places and strained the tendons. I have a walking boot for the next 6 weeks and I'm wondering how I'm supposed to keep it dry if it rains. We're going away next weekend and I've already managed to ruin it by falling over so I don't want to have to stay in the hotel room if it rains!

If anyone has any ideas I'd be really grateful, especially as we're going away for a week the weekend after that!

You can get waterproof cast protectors that go up to the thigh with a tight rubber seal at the top, but I don't know if they would go over something as large as a walking boot - might be worth a try at a pharmacy/medical supplies store?

Put your foot in a plastic bag and then walking boot over the top.

Thank you. I did think about a plastic bag but I'm worried about slipping over. I might send DH to the pharmacy tomorrow to ask for me.
