Is there a way I can prevent sickness / vomiting happening?

Both DC and DH have had 24hr sickness bug this week, which started out as stomach pain and body aches and resulted in them throwing up once. All fine after sleep.

I'm now feeling stomach pain and body aches and assuming it's my turn. Is there a way I can prevent the sickness / vomiting happening? Eg if I skip dinner tonight? Or is it inevitable?

personally I'd not eat, or eat something very small and plain. Line everything with towels, get a bucket ready and aim for an early night.

You will feel better once you've been sick.

If that's a fear of vomiting, I dont think so? I mean it's not nice but I'm normal about it I think...

Not emetophobia then!

I'm not sure OP, I think if your body decides it needs to be sick you'll be sick. I guess the less you eat the less you'll need to get rid of though!

My husband hates being sick, he had D&V a few weeks ago and if he laid dead still he wasn't sick, any sort of upright position set him off feeling very nauseous.

He ate nothing for over 48 hours but he still got the nauseous feeling.

Might not happen anyway as you may fight it off but if you can cope with it raw crushed or chopped garlic I get this is pretty horrendous but I’ve tried it with chamomile tea (this soothes the stomach) as recommended by a herbalist when I had D and V. Garlic kills the bacteria apparently.
