I'm new to podcasts. There's so much choice so I'd love some recommendations.
Im looking for a good horror series. Something with a good voice and good story telling please.

Uncanny, The Witch Farm and Battersea Poltergeist are quite good.
All on BBC Sounds

ThreeRingCircus · 13/09/2023 19:48

I love Uncanny.

Greydogs123 · 13/09/2023 19:51

I also recommend uncanny, the witch farm and the Battersea poltergeist.
I've just started one called heart starts pounding which is scary stories, mysteries etc.

Colinorpercy · 13/09/2023 19:55

Also came to say uncanny- I’ve yet to find anything else I like as much so will be following here for ideas!

PosyPrettyToes · 13/09/2023 19:57

It’s not supernatural but MrBallen is great.

HerVagestyTheQueef · 13/09/2023 19:58

The White Vault is good.

GhostFaceInMyWindow · 13/09/2023 20:05

Unpleasant dreams, You can see me in the dark, ghost tales by the fireside ( he has a lovely voice),

HerVagestyTheQueef · 13/09/2023 20:09

Also "Deadhouse" on BBC sounds.
It's "immersive" - supposed to be listened to in the dark, alone, with eyes closed. Very creepy!

HerVagestyTheQueef · 13/09/2023 20:11

I also remembered "Weird Tales" on BBC, also very good.

fabmaccawhackythumbsaloft · 13/09/2023 20:17

Watching with interest .

Not listened to any fiction but second the uncanny one, the witch farm and Battersea poltergeist

Clefable · 13/09/2023 20:19

muddlingthrou · 13/09/2023 21:03

Tanis! Best listened to while walking through woodland, if you can manage that 👻

ClassicStripe · 13/09/2023 21:09

There is an uncanny titled "Harry Called" it left me petrified driving home at 11am in Broad day light.

BusinessClass · 13/09/2023 21:12

Also recommend the white vault!

"Travel is not advised"

👏

pyewatchet · 13/09/2023 21:18

Second The Magnus Archive, also Welcome to Night Vale and The Lovecraft Investigations (BBC, three different, connected stories).

pyewatchet · 13/09/2023 21:20

ALSO! Archive 81.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have some stuff to go and explore. I've heard the Witch Farm on iplayer and loved it.

Definitely Uncanny by Danny Robbins who also did the Witch Farm.

Don't Sleep in this House episode is terrifying!

EggAndSpooning · 14/09/2023 09:26

Let’s Not Meet and Being Scared. BS reads the stories over a rain soundtrack which is just absolutely lovely and cosy.
