Where do people sell second hand sofas ?

Where can I buy a second hand sofa online? I’ve searched eBay for months but nothing I like is coming up locally, fb marketplace is full of those scam sofas and even when I write in used sofas that’s what comes up apart from about 3 sofas in the local area again nothing I like. Where do people sell their second hand sofas online (not going to shops) where else can I look?

London should add I looked on Gumtree but again it’s full of those scam sofas, same as market place. Will try the other suggestions

There are a lot of places that sell ex-display, returns and so on, which I found through eBay. We used 2PinkFlamingoes a couple of times and got a great sofa bed and armchair from them, as described. It can be quite a local thing though. I started by Googling Loaf seconds, as I knew we couldn’t afford a new one.

I sold my Mum's on gumtree.

I'm surprised you couldn't find any on Ebay. I just searched for 'sofa', then selected nearest to my postcode and ticked the box for 'used;. About 100 sofas were there within 5 miles. (I'm not in London, but a largish town. Did you use a too specific search term like 'secondhand sofa'?

Dotcheck · 12/09/2023 21:42

Fb marketplace. There are always loads on mine- have you set your distance parameters too low?

Dotcheck · 12/09/2023 21:42

Btw, search for ‘sofa’ not ‘used sofa’

Another vote for British Heart Foundation.
Really good quality and not old fashioned either.

sunglassesonthetable · 12/09/2023 21:45

Locally to me you can go to the British Heart Foundation Shop. I think they're good.

I could find loads on eBay but obviously you have to collect them which would most likely involve hiring large van. Did you click on 'by distance'?

Yes I can I said none I like? It’s market place and gumtree I’ve struggled to find many used ones on as too many fake listings

I said none I like or that’s my style local enough to collect as will be paying a man and van so not looking at further than 20 miles due to Cost

If you are in North London, Barnet Furniture Centre is very good: www.barnetfurniturecentre.org/
They are mainly in-store but occasionally have items online. They are a charity and will deliver.
