What did you do for your child’s 5th birthday?

It’s my sons 5th birthday in less than 2 weeks and I have absolutely no idea what to do for it. I was going to hire soft play for a party but I’ve left it a bit late now and I’m wondering where I can take him and what we can do for it.
His birthday will be spent with me, his dad and toddler sister. I normally plan a good trip out somewhere rather than buy loads of presents but I’m clueless this year.

It was during covid, the summer just after first lockdown ended - we went to a theme park.

Bouncy castle in church hall ( but if you have a garden they'll deliver to there)

Soft play worked well for my DC at this age. Are you sure you've left it too late?

We went to London zoo on the train the Saturday before, and a tea party with grandparents the following Saturday.

Eldest turned 5 in lockdown winter 21 so he got to camp in the lounge for his with a zoom gathering! 😂 We had a day out 6months later! Neither had big presents (small lego sets) to open.

What does the child want to do? That is usually my guide (within reason! 😂)

Take him to a theme park for a day and take a couple of friends?

Just a soft play session (that you pay for) and then out for Pizza Hut or something after? With a few friends

All class party with bouncy castle and face painter. Then we did a day out to Peppa pig world on the closest weekend. On the actual day which was a school day we allowed her to choose where to go for dinner and went to pizza express.

We invited his whole class to soft play. They'd been in Reception together for 6 months by this point.

It was wild. They all ended up running around in their pants.

Had a great time and they all went home full of cake and pizza.

Bouncy castle in a church hall. Invites to his class at school.
