Sun cream stains on white polo shirts

I'm usually quite good on getting stains out but I'm being beaten by sun cream on white polos. Any advice on how to get it out?

I use a combination of drying in the sun to bleach them and not caring.

All my children's school tops have permanent marker, suncream and pasta sauce stains on them. Sunshine does as much as it can. The rest is there to stay and such is life.

Soak in hot water and vanish for a bit. Then add more vanish onto the stain and scrub: they go away quite quickly.

I'm just back from hols and been trying to get suncream out of my swimming costume. The thing that has worked is spot cleaning with washing up liquid with baking powder sprinkled over it...then lots of rubbing and repeating as necessary. I picked the baking powder tip up from google.

Neat washing up liquid (the kind for dishes). Rub it in, let it sit for a bit then throw into the machine on a white wash.

Soak for 2/3 days with bio powder. Rub a bit of washing up liquid in first.

Honestly with polo shirts I don't even bother trying, maybe I am very lazy but the sunshine while the are drying bleaches out quite a lot and they will just be stained with something else by next week.

Right I’m going to try these thanks. With the washing up liquid, do I need to rinse it off before putting it in the washing machine? I don’t want to end up with bubbles everywhere.

I don't bother rinsing it off.

I've found nothing gets it out, so you just have to accept it.

But this summer I trialed child putting sun cream on and letting it dry before putting the shirt on - no stains at all. I used boots soltan once a day cream.

Five Minute Mum (on Instagram/ Facebook) did a whole reel about exactly this yesterday! I haven't had the issue as we have coloured polos but might be worth a watch
