Will we ever have a terrorist attack like 9/11 again?

As the title states. The last known attack was Ariana Grande concert. Do you think we will ever have another huge attack either on British soil or potentially overseas like 9/11?

Yes. Our and the American governments kicked it all off after all. There was no terror until America decided we needed terror. Of course there will be.

OP, there have been several terror attacks in the UK since the Manchester Arena incident.

Sadly the authorities need to get it right all the time, the terrorists only need to get it right once.

I feel 9/11 happened better than they planned in some ways. They didn’t manage to get to all their targets due to the brave passengers but I don’t think the trade centres were expected to fall and call as much of an iconic and devastating impact.

Agree. Imagine if all digital communication ie the Internet was shut down. Everything would fall apart, the economy would be ruined. Clearly i have no idea how technology works but there must be cables somewhere right? Isn't any island vulnerable to being targeted?

@toadasoda I work in cyber security and it's terrifying our reliance on technology. Food chains, transport, fuels, farming, logistics and medicines.

Sorry to derail the 9/11 physical aspect of the OPs question but the cyber attacks could cause more casualties.

There are terror attacks stopped all the time in the UK, we just don’t get told about them.
