Wtf has happened to my toe? (with non-gross pics)

I have caught fungal nail grossness off (D)H and yesterday I cut my toenails. Just after I cut the left one it REALLY hurt across my whole toe for about a minute. I thought nothing more of it. This morning it looks like I’ve taken a lump hammer to it. I haven’t stubbed it or dropped anything on it, or done anything else. Is this a thing with fungal nail? Is my nail now alive and is it possible to cause trauma by cutting it? 😣

Sounds like achenbach syndrome Usually happens in fingers but can affect toes. Very painful for a short time and then blue for a day or two. Not sure what causes it but it's benign.

Blood clot? I'd go to the nurse at the GP surgery for something like that, worth getting checked in case it's a precursor to somehting more severe like DVT. Doubt it's linked to the nail trim, just coincidental.
