Hello, we've been offered an appointment at a cdc tomorrow. Ds6 is being referred for delay in social and emotional development, trouble focusing, sitting still, completing work, etc. Just wondered if anyone can advise on what will likely happen? Is it just an informal chat, or do they have tests for ds to complete? We've been very lucky and offered the appointment after a cancellation but its so last minute I'm feeling anxious!

I think this is difficult to answer as all authorities work differently.

Bring any records you have of what your child could do when as they'll ask a lot of developmental history.

Make a list of your concerns so you don't forget to say anything

They will have lots of questions for you and will try to interact with your child

I wish I saw your message before the appointment. Yes, they asked lots of questions about when he started walking and talking and embarrassingly I couldn't remember! I know he was an early walker and late talker but I've completely forgotten how old he was.

He's been referred on the autism pathway. He also scored highly for adhd based on my answers but they need the schools forms as well.
