Twenty two years since 9/11. Remembering those who died and their families.

Can't believe it's been so long. Will never forget that day. Had lost my DH in the July and it was the first time I felt able to go shopping on my own. A friend had asked me to pick something up for her. I got off the bus home in time to go to hers before school pick up. I walked into the sitting room and the tv was on. Her three year old was watching and I said what on earth was she letting him watch a film like that. She then said it was the news and explained and I was so shocked.
In a way I'm glad DH wasn't alive to see it. He was ex military and would have hated it.
Remembering all those who lost their lives and their families. ♥ ♥

I don’t think anyone who watched the day unfold will ever forget the sheer horror of it all.

It feels like yesterday 😞

I agree it does feel like yesterday.
I was in France on holiday with DH and we just happened to be watching American news live as we couldn't find any other channels. So we watched everything as it happened. Watching the poor people fall and jump will never leave my mind.

I was in London at work. We had a Reuters news feed that said there had been an accident so I switched on the office TV because we had clients in the WTC. We saw the second plane crash and it was the most surreal thing I've ever seen. I remember the tube and train on the journey home being eerily quiet. People were just in shock. Horrific. I will spend some time today thinking of those who lost their lives.
