Gareth Thomas presenting on TV

For someone that has admitted knowingly infecting someone with HIV, which should be a criminal conviction as it is the legal definition of assault, how can he be allowed to present on TV now? I feel very uncomfortable watching him on TV for this reason and wouldn’t see him in panto also.

Has he admitted it?

Imamumgetmeoutofhere · 10/09/2023 22:17

He never admitted it though. It was settled in court without him admitting liability.

For most things people are happy to take the "innocent until proven guilty" stance, why should this be any different

Plus the antiviral meds he takes makes the viral load of HIV virtually undetectable and as a result won't pass to sexual partners. So no, he did not do this intentionally as far as I am concerned

I agree with you @LadybirdStone It makes me uncomfortable seeing him on tv. He may well be taking antivirals and is as much of a risk as someone without hiv but he does have it and didn't disclose to his partner. He went so far as to remove the labels from his medication. I don't understand why he paid his ex £75k plus costs when he says he was innocent.
