Cost of flowers from local florist?

I've never ordered flowers before but a friend who lives miles away has just had an operation and I want to send some.

I have no idea how much a bouquet from a local florist would cost and don't want to be embarrassed when I ring if they're out of my budget. Would I be able to get something nice for around the £40 mark do you think? Or am I way off?

I don't want to use M&S or another postal service as they look like they're delivered in a box, and I want them delivered in a bouquet so she doesn't need to arrange them herself.

You can order off the interflora website which will be made up by a local florist, I've recently sent them for £40 plus p&p though they stated at £35 I think

I also use bloom and wild a lot and while they do the letterbox flowers they also do hand tied bouquets albeit they will still be in a box .

I generally use interflora for same day flowers and bloom and wild for anything else

Agree interflora is good. You can choose something in your budget and choose colours/ style etc and then a local florist makes it up and delivers it.

If you prefer to phone a florist directly then yes, I think £40 is about right. I’m sure it would be helpful to the florist to give them an idea of budget anyway so they can give you a few options of flowers etc.
