London restaurant for rare child free evening

In October half term, we will have a rare opportunity for a meal out together with no children and no need to get back to a babysitter. Does anyone have any recommendations for a really nice restaurant we could go to? I am so out of the loop with these things!

Easy from East Croydon is a bonus, no real budget but probably don't want to have the world's most expensive! I would definitely like to be able to book rather than having to turn up and queue.

Thank you in advance!

J Sheekey is always my go to. Right by Leicester Sq tube. Or The Wolsey (food a bit agnostic but atmopshere is great).

Circolo Popolare in Fitzrovia if your budget stretches that far.
Vasco Piero in Soho is exquisite.
Santo Remedio in London Bridge has a fab atmosphere and great Mexican food.

Hawksmoor
City Social (Liverpool Street)

both lovely and great for when you’re child free

Fallow on Haymarket is wonderful - train up to Victoria and the 38 to Piccadilly then walk down.

The Syrian Kitchen in Kingly Court is fantastic.

If you want over the top tongue in cheek pizazz, Carlotta in Marylebone High street is something else.

I’d try and get a reservation at either Mountain or Bibi (modern Indian), both newish and great food plus a good vibe.

Fallow and Maison Francois also favourites.

Leicester Square Kitchen.

Sucre is fab. No kids and trendy (but pud but the vibe is great)

Does East Croydon go into London Bridge? If so then in that area I would agree with Santo Remedio as pp said, also El Pastor (Mexican again), Jose (tapas), Hawksmoor Borough (steak). Or Padella (pasta) but you can’t book which is annoying. Arthur Hooper always looks good but I’ve never been.

Maison Francaise just behind Fortnums. Classy but comfortable French restaurant. Delicious food.

Following for our next child-free venture into town!
