Recommendations For Good Wines To Go With Indian?

I’m having lamb so will possibly have red. A couple of us are having chicken. I need wines that won’t be overpowered by the spices.

I have seen German white wines like Riesling or Gewürztraminer as recommended for spicy food . Might be worth investigating?

For red a barbera d'asti or pinot noir. If it’s white I go with something with some sweetness. A gewurztraminer or riesling but not one of the very very sweet syrupy ones.

I got a lovely light Australian Pinot Noir from the Co op which went down very well
