Aircon as a heater

So, I bought a house (uk) which has aircon. I’ve refused to use it this summer due to how much I imagine it costs.
its Daikin and it also heats.

The previous owners loved it so much they took the bloody radiators out of 3 rooms so that’s the heat source in those rooms.

So, this winter I have no option but to give it a go.

Those who use theirs for heating, what’s the most efficient way? Do you set it up to come on before you get up on a timer (like CH) or am I meant to set it at say 18 and let it click in and out?

How quickly does it actually heat? I don’t like a boiling hot house, but I do like a bit of warmth in there!

I know it’s going to be expensive, but my understanding is it heats instantly, so it won’t need to be in for long, unlike the whole radiator scenario.

I believe it’s quite drying though, so should I put a bowl of water in the room to keep moisture in the air?

Im going to try for one winter, while I decide whether to then get radiators put back in. However, I’m keen to avoid the cost of doing that, so want to give this a fair go.

NB I didn’t want aircon, and I didn’t realise the radiators weren’t there, I just assumed that they were!

We have aircon but don’t use it for heating as we have radiators. I lived abroad for a while in a country where the winter is short (though as cold as January in the UK), so no central heating and I used aircon for heating. For me I only felt warm while it was switched on, the room cooled quite quickly once it switched off.

Thanks @Lemonbell
Do you leave it running like that at night? Mine seems to have a night setting on the thermostat thing?

I am struggling with it because the people I bought it from promised to leave comprehensive instructions, then did nothing of the sort, so for some time I couldn’t turn the bloody thing even on, because it turns out one of the thermostat things is the master , another one is linked to the master and another one has a different thermostat, although they all run off the same unit.

I wasn’t sure if I was meant to put them on a timer?

As I’m out at work all day would I just leave it off all day then put it back on auto at night?

Am terrified of a massive bill so I’m really nervous to touch it, but it’s going to get cold soon so I need to get to grips with it

My aircon seems to be cost effective, I had it running all last night and the smart meter was saying less than £3.00.

Not tried it as a heather yet.

So, the units come out the ceiling, they are round things that look like speakers. They are controlled via the thermostat thing, but I think there is an app, only it won’t find them when I search.

There are lots of bits on it, but I can’t adjust the fan speeds or anything, but I don’t know if that’s because they don’t allow that.

I have (I hope) added pictures of all the system will show me, I know it’s in stop at the moment, so it’s not on, but I can’t seem to do anything with them!

I think it runs off the Airzone cloud app, but it won’t find them, I can’t find the info to manually associate them (unless I take the front off the controller I think) and I can’t seem to get control of them. Apart from turning it on I don’t seem able to do anything.
I can’t even edit the names of the zones

I have got their details, and I’ve repeatedly asked, but they just send me YouTube videos.
I suspect all the system is still linked to them as they are useless at actually removing themselves from things.

I will contact Airzone next and try to get a handle on it.

Thankyou!
