Last Night of the Proms

We didn't get to see the regional proms in the parks! I love seeing all the chairs lined up neatly on the Titanic Slipway

That aside, I think I'm now a Lise Davidsen fangirl.

I've really enjoyed it too but am finding this final speech by the conductor absolutely cringeworthy.

I'm a bit sad John Wilson didn't do a Hollywood/golden age prom again but I do understand that he wants to focus on other things, and his prom was fab.

I'm switching off. I want it to be about the music. I'm not up for a political lecture at this time of night. It's so patronising. We can enjoy music without being lectured.

There were a few people just standing in the audience looking rather glum not singing or waving flags as the camera panned round. Do you think they didn’t know what the last night was like!

I met dh in the queue for the Last Night of the Proms, and we stood together on the front row, so I have a soft spot for it.
