Peeing In The Swimming Pool.

Bobbiesgirlie · 09/09/2023 14:34

Today my husband told our 6 year old to pee in the swimming pool if he needs to, to save getting out.

I said that this was out of order and if he needs to go he should get out.

My husband replied that he's always peed in the pool since being a kid and confessed to peeing in the shower too. My husband said most people do it, they just won't admit it.

Do people actually do this!?

I object to peeing in the shower!

I don't believe that every trace of urine goes down the drain and as I am the person who does the shower cleaning in a household of 6 I am buggered if I want 6 pees a day swilling down my open shower drain getting smelly and requiring me to clean

Peeing in pool also gross of course.

I'll second that; dirty gits. That's what the toilet is for, FFS.

Malarandras · 09/09/2023 15:24

It’s not normal no. Neither is peeing in the shower. That’s utterly disgusting.

saltrock123 · 09/09/2023 15:26

Quite shocked at how many seem to think pissing in the shower is ok. Yuk, just gross ! And why the need when there is usually a toilet close by?

Biffsboys · 09/09/2023 15:37

And people wonder why I refuse to go swimming .. disgusting

I love to swim. It's the most beneficial thing I can do for my mental health. The Tories have seen fit to pump our rivers and seas full of shit and there are disgusting people who think it's fine to piss in the pool. Does swimming in clean water become a preserve of those rich enough to have their own pools?

Weird thing to blame on the Tories.

It's not new. It is gross but it's happened ever since swimming in water was a thing. In the sea, rivers, or man-made pools.

You can't blame a government.

But they don’t drain it every night. It still has all the pee in it in the morning…the pee is just older and has had more chemicals working on it.

I am more grossed out in swimming pools by stuff like skin flakes, plasters, scabs and unwashed bodies.

CurlewKate · 09/09/2023 15:45

Sea and shower fine.
Pool not fine.

GonnaBeYoniThisChristmas · 09/09/2023 15:49

Sorry in my post I meant to reference the PP who said they swim in the morning…

diddl · 09/09/2023 15:58

My husband said most people do it, they just won't admit it.

He might be right but why would he want to be in the ranks of the rank?

I don't pee in the pool btw!

Ididivfama · 09/09/2023 16:00

Omg im so naive I didn’t think adults would

HappydaysArehere · 09/09/2023 16:05

Only in the sea. Swimming pools disgusting and antisocial. Not in the shower.

FlamMabel · 09/09/2023 16:05

Grim. And unless he's managing to pee directly into the drain of the shower I HIGHLY DOUBT it's all going down the drain. I bet your bathroom stinks.

Rattysparklebum · 09/09/2023 16:08

Why would you pee in the shower when there is probably a toilet less a few feet away? Doesn’t everyone use the loo if the need to before jumping in the shower?

grass321 · 09/09/2023 16:09

I have a pool. Until that point I always presumed pool owners drain and refill their pool every year. They don't.

The only way we can drain our pool is to get a specialist company with suction pipes. Even then it's hard finding somewhere to drain that volume of water to and it took a week to refill. We've done it once in 13 years and the same for friends with pools.

So, if you're peeing in a pool, you're swimming in that pee, and the pee of others, week in, week out. Chemicals sanitise the water but the thought of swallowing water with other people's pee in it is quite grim. Moral of the story is to get out and go to the loo if you're in a pool and not the sea.

Bunnycat101 · 09/09/2023 16:47

At 6 he is old enough to be getting out and not weeing in the pool. But wherever there are babies and toddlers there will be their wee as the swim nappies don’t contain it. It’s best not to think to hard about it otherwise you’d never go swimming but regardless i certainly wouldn’t be encouraging primary age children to wee in the pool. It’s just laziness on his part to not get out with your son.

Beachdays44 · 09/09/2023 17:25

We were on holiday recently in a lovely resort - I did notice that there was never a queue for the toilets. There was a cocktail bar by the pool and people were always drinking as it was hot...yet I walked straight into the nearby toilets every time.

We were all sick going home - tummy bug. I could never prove it but I suspect it was the pool water that causes us to be sick.

I emailed the resort afterwards and they sent a response saying that they use chemicals, etc. If you think about it pools are disgusting.

StaunchMomma · 09/09/2023 17:42

Peeing in a pool is so gross!!

Although there was that one time when I was pregnant at Center Parcs and didn't realise I was standing under the 'tipping bucket' area of Pirate Cove.

Lets just say that bucket may have involved more than one gush! 😬

StillWantingADog · 09/09/2023 17:44

He won’t be the only one but it’s pretty grim and my kids have always known that they have to get out of the pool to pee

fearfuloffluff · 10/09/2023 19:54

Tygertiger · 09/09/2023 15:03

This is an urban myth, sadly!

@Tygertiger I never said it was true or had to be true! People believing it is enough :)

GoldenRetriever13 · 18/01/2024 17:11

I think that peeing in the pool is ok if you know where to pee.

GoldenRetriever13 · 18/01/2024 17:12

I think that peeing in the pool is ok if you know where to pee. Which is peeing into a jet.

MrsSkylerWhite · 18/01/2024 17:12

In the pool, not on. The sea or the shower, no big deal. Read somewhere that wee can be good for foot infections.

GoldenRetriever13 · 18/01/2024 17:14

Yes to peeing in the shower and pool just down the drain.

caringcarer · 18/01/2024 18:47

CaptainMyCaptain · 09/09/2023 15:05

It's disgusting.

It really is fowl. Peeing in the sea is just about ok but in an enclosed swimming pool, no it's gross. Tell your son it's wrong and make him get out.
