Why some threads get few comments

Newish to mnet. Why do some posts get hundreds of comments where the opinions are basically all the same, repetitive while other posts which are interesting and asking for advice/opinions get few posts? Some threads get hijacked by lots of posters on different subject.

Catchy titles maybe? Not sure

Every time someone posts on a thread, it gets bumped in Active Convos where most people look for what to read.

If it's a thread that gets a pile on, it'll be there for ages. Especially when people don't bother reading the thread or OP's replies.
