Biggest one for 120 years.

My dh is Moroccan and we have visited Marrakesh many times. The buildings are so close together and many storeys it would've hard for people to escape.

Is it causes from climate change? Or in someway related to the Turkish earthquake?

Earthquakes are usually caused by tectonic plate movement, nothing to do with climate change.

Morocco sits over the join of 2 plates Africa and Eurasia, so high risk of seismic activity.

It looks dreadful - I hope they can get some help out to the people in remote areas quickly.

Thoughts to anyone in Morocco or with loved ones out there x

I read a few days ago that there was lots of mini earthquakes being felt across the canaries this last week, could this have been a build up of what's happened in Morocco? They're quite close
