I'm having a weekend at the seaside ALL BY MYSELF!

Well, me and the dog. There's a weekend next month which conveniently sits between the end of one big work project and the start of another - and one of the DC being away on a residential.

So I'm leaving the other DC with DH and heading to the coast. We will have long walks along the beach, read a lot (well, me, not DDog), and eat out at every meal so I don't have to think about food beyond "what do I fancy?"

I can't wait. 🥰

It looks and sounds amazing. I would so love to do it but our children are grown and left home. I don't think my husband would understand why i'd like to go away alone or with dog!

Now recuperating with a G&T in the pub.

I'm so jealous of this! It's a beautiful day here too and Im wishing I was doing something fun!

Well I've had my Thai, and now I'm having chocolate and wine with Strictly.

I think I've just about walked the dog to death though. He didn't even bother me for my food, which is unheard of.

Are you heading home tomorrow?

Are you heading home tomorrow?

Yes...but not till about midday, so I'm going to try and fit in a Sunday paper, a leisurely breakfast and another beach walk before I go.

Sounds perfect!

Does Ddog smell nice now? 🤓

UTTERLY invested in your weekend, over here...

Aparecium · 15/10/2023 06:59

How can I be so invested in a stranger's weekend? 😂

It sounds blissful. And it's lovely that your dd is happy at her residential, too.

Another gloriously sunny day here, seems a shame to leave, but even if I didn't have to the weather's forecast to change for the worst tomorrow anyway.

Just sat down for brunch in a sunny spot of a lovely cafe, then having one last walk along the beach before heading home. Feel very blessed that I got to have this.

Sounds so lovely.

I also can’t understand people who would be terrified to do it. I think that’s quite sad. I get some people just wouldn’t enjoy time away on their own but being terrified to do it is different.

I went to Greece on my own last month for a week. Was fab. I read ten books in a week!

Cowlover89 · 15/10/2023 11:28

Enjoy!

I went to live in Greece on my own when I was 22. Lindos on Rhodes. It was wonderful.
