I'm sure this has been done before, but just wondering what your favourite advert is.

Mine is the Jaffa cake one - full moon, half moon, total eclipse. Still makes me laugh 😁

Guinness ad with brothers/pals reconciling (starring Micheal Fassbender)
Rolo elephant
Cadbury Gorilla
Kerrygold ads from the 90s 😄
Currently like the Tesco ad with father & son

Just thought of another. The one where the oarcels gets delivered to the wrong house and the older lady comes to the door wearing orange trainers. I just love her expression just before she closes the door!

And you see her husband in tve backgrounds wearing headphones!
No deliveries here, love...

I can remember the days before rear seat belts where on a night out there would sometimes be at least twice the number of people in a car on the way home than there were seats!

MariePaperRoses · 09/09/2023 09:23

They should show this one today!

Bbq1 · 09/09/2023 09:24

My god, never seen That Judderman one. Pretty dark with a horrible twist! Can't see why anyone would want tge drink after that though!

MariePaperRoses · 09/09/2023 09:25

I remember this one vividly

MariePaperRoses · 09/09/2023 09:26

Another one that should be shown today

When I was a child I belonged to the local Tufty Squirrel club/group.

Wonderful memories and the adverts were great.

Real coal advert years ago with a dog a cat and a mouse

ShowOfHands · 09/09/2023 09:39

I'd completely forgotten about The Judderman. We still sing Belly's Gonna Get You randomly. Also do the Viscount voice whenever we are hungry ie " I vant, I vaaaant..."

The Hovis over the years and and JR Hartley are pure nostalgia.

My favourite adverts are always Christmas ads. I have a real fondness for the Toys r Us ones from way back when but Mog's Christmas (Sainsbury's) and the child waiting to give a gift to his parents (John Lewis) are the best recent ones.

I had a favourite ad as a child and have never found it or got anybody to remember it. It was for a fizzy drink I think, possibly an orange drink and featured a basketball game played outside. It was filmed to look quite grungy and earthy but at the end of the advert, the basketball players all revealed plummy accents.

I always think McDonalds ads are very good.

But my favourite by a mile is the Smash aliens. Saw it again very recently on the 1970s Supermarket programme, and it is still as fresh and funny as the day it came out.

Also loved:
What has a hazelnut in every bite?
TOPIC!
Thick milk chocolate for your delight.
TOPIC!
and so on ...

Chanel No. 5 from the 70s. Lovely music and a very sophisticated couple who meet in an art gallery.

Irn Bru - Goths on holiday to The Undertones, Here Comes The Summer.

Coke advert - Hello Summertime - probably another 70s advert

efeslight · 09/09/2023 10:07

Herding cats ad is fantastic

romeosierraoscar · 09/09/2023 10:22

I drink blackcurrant tango - come and get me!

KimberleyClark · 09/09/2023 10:40

Australian lager advert from the 90s. Fabulous sports car draws up outside pub.

Barman thinks: I bet with a car like that he must be a real potato head.
Movie star handsome man gets out of car.

Barman: Well I bet he’s really thick (or words to that effect)
Man enters pub. Everyone starts calling out “Hello Professor!”
Barman crestfallen.
Man comes to bar. Asks for a Snowball.
Barman is visibly a snowball!
Man:” and a pint of Fosters for me” just as beautiful woman joins him at the bar.
Barman: Don’t you just hate it when that happens!

MariePaperRoses · 09/09/2023 10:58

Fantastic advert

ThelmaBorden · 09/09/2023 11:01

Paul Hogan ! Fosters Lager ads and Australia Tourist Board ads, responsible for many catchphrases (throw another shrimp on the barbie) and the transformation of backwater Australia into a major holiday destination.

MariePaperRoses · 09/09/2023 11:12

They're a lot smaller these days!
