I am finding that Asda fresh fruit and veg dosnt last long. Just thown a whole broccoli which was to be used to day in the bin it had gone yellow. Only brought it weds. Not the first time either. I think I will get my fresh produce in marks, bit pricer but no more than thowing stuff in the bin

Yes agree. Everyone moans about aldi but I think Asda is much worse.

Also I had a delivery yesterday and when I went through it all, I ended up requesting £16 worth of refunds for items that went out of date today. Not sure how many meals the picker thought we could eat in a day.

I think a lot depends on how the individual store is managed. I find stuff lasts much longer than I expect it to from Asda.

Same, I have one of those Asda annual delivery passes for a while longer but I'm thinking I won't bother again. The last few weeks' shops in particular have been terrible for the fresh stuff. I had to throw away a melon literally the same day it had arrived because there was a rotten hole underneath I'd not seen. Lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber all rotten through the next day. Milk well in date going off so fast. They are pretty good with online refunds though, I've never had one refused.

Same here. I have found it has got much worse recently. I’ve had rotten bananas, sunken oranges, apples with a weird texture, mixed peppers that went soft really quickly, wilted cabbages. Generally I have found dates very short too on the online deliveries fresh food too.

I shop in-store at Asda and haven't had this problem.

Yellow broccoli is perfectly edible!

Rockandchips · 09/09/2023 06:32

I didnt know you could eat yellow broccoli especially as it smelt of pee so I wont be doing that. Yes I agree carrots and tangerines go off very quickly and you have to be very vigilant at checking the dates on yogurt and stuff. I think my Asda has not got any competition near it, unless you have a car, so they are not bothered.

It won't be one picker doing your whole shop - they do it by department.

Then why is my bread always under my pop 🤣

Every. Single. Time.

Rockandchips · 09/09/2023 06:58

Ive been in my Local asda and seen the same picker going to all the different departments. Im sure Asda dosnt have a picker for every different department. Also I go about 8 in the morning and feel as if im in the pickers way what with all the big trollys full as well blocking up the aisles. Perhaps Im just unlucky with the Asda I use.

When I worked there, they all did different departments.
