If you hated the corporate world and left…

What did you do?

tried several times to climb the career ladder. Succeed to varying degrees but it just leaves me depressed and anxious all the office politics and corporate bullshit. I absolutely hate.

I am currently signed off from work and genuinely thinking it’s just not for me anymore. My mental health is on the floor. I live for the weekends then spend my weekends trying to escape my life by opening a wine bottle as soon as I can.

so looking for inspiration…

No advice but I can relate. I am also caught up in the corporate world and don’t really fit in. I hate the politics and fakeness. Would love to leave but I also have a mortgage and Dc. I guess I enjoy the money.

Good luck!

Self employed. WFH. Still interacting with the same world but more on my terms. Cut down hours , reduced travelling, but also managed to cut out some cost ( commuting/ wardrobe/ lunches/ dog care). Also managed to work in some new industry/ areas ( Financial/ Project background)

This summer I worked a lot less , but picked up a job with a local gardening company - doing hand weeding and light jobs, which the gardeners/ grass cutters/ tree trimmers hate, but which a lot of people want apparently. Pays peanuts, but I can be outside all day , with my wee tools and my kneeling pad.

Obviously this is very seasonal and I won’t be joining them for the heavy duty hard landscaping , but I think I will do it again next season if it’s available. ( I am 61, btw, so no dependents and mortgage paid or I would not be doing it.)
