I love this month and really don't mind spiders at all even in my house they just get left to do their thing.

The wee beauty is currently resident in my parasol out the back , apologies if your scared 😳.

What a beauty. I love spiders.

She’s gorgeous. I love to go out at dusk and see what spiders have come out in the garden. It’s mobbed with them!

RJnomore1 · 07/09/2023 16:57

Where is it? I’m terrified of them but weirdly love photos

Me too

That's preferable to the hideous monster currently living in my bedroom! He's escaped DH's attempts at catching him so far but I live in hope he'll be evicted soon!

Pushkinia · 07/09/2023 18:18

I hate spiders but that one is quite pretty.

Perfectly happy if they’re outside in the garden, but the monster the size of my hand that was taking up residence in my bedroom had to be evicted (not by me, it barely fitted in the glass and was trying to climb out by pushing on the paper lid on the glass). This spider had attitude!

Caswallonthefox · 07/09/2023 18:43

Garden spiders are the only ones that send a shiver up my spine. They are beautiful though. Fortunately they are never a problem because I don't have a garden.

Crinkle77 · 07/09/2023 18:58

I don't mind these and cellar spiders but I'm petrified of these big fuckers. It wouldn't be so bad if they were a bit slower but they're so fast, crawl on you and have no fear. At least the other types just sit in their webs minding their own business.

I found a zebra jumping spider on a sign at the train station earlier. They are such cute little things.

A jumping spider - my nightmares will never be the same again!!

I had this (well not this exact one. This is a Google pic cos I wasn't sure if it was a false widow or not) in my brown bin yesterday. It's currently living out the rest of its days, now in the bottom of the wheelie bin munching on weeds and brambles. Although after reading up on them I kind of wish I'd set it free. Away from the bungalow. As much as I like spiders big or small and can tolerate them climbing the wall above my bed. I do draw the line at something that might bite me. I got bit by a tiny little spider that had got trapped in the sleeve of my pj top. That fucker bloody hurt 😂

{mention:Surely2023IsTheYearForMyRainbowBaby}.@Surely2023IsTheYearForMyRainbowBaby. Why would you set it free?
They are prolific rampant breeders with an extremely nasty bite.

Isseywith3witchycats · 07/09/2023 21:21

Got loads of those ones in the pic in my garden at the moment quite fascinating to watch but i upset one yesterday he had built a web right across my garden gate felt it break as i inadvertently walked through it poor spider spent all that time building it and along comes clumsy me

They are tiny - maybe 5-10mm max. Not going to hurt you! They aren't house spiders; they live outside in gardens etc. Some more info here: www.discoverwildlife.com/animal-facts/insects-invertebrates/facts-about-zebra-jumping-spider/
