Spiders / peppermint spray

We are overrun with massive spiders at the moment (overrun might be exaggerating but there are a lot).

Is it true that peppermint spray deters them?

I put peppermint oil on the windows and doors and think it has greatly reduced the amount of spiders in the house. They are probably all in the loft now…..

I hoover daily, (well Eufy does!) make sure there's no clutter, pressure washed the eaves, cleaned the windows inc around hinges etc then use cinnamon oil around the windows. No spiders so far.

The only thing I've found that actually works is lemon eucalyptus.

I don't mind the spindly ones esp if they kill big spiders but I can't use a spider catcher because that requires being in the same room!

I find spiders on webs outside quite fascinating but all that changes once inside. I can't be in the same room if its massive.

Peppermint repels mice.

Citrus repels spiders.

Terrifying! Did you see what kind of spider?

I didn’t see or feel it bite me but DH found a dead false widow in the bed a day or so later.

Edited to add I wakened up with the bite and a very swollen arm, after surgery the hospital said it had been a spider bite.

Conkers in the corners of the rooms does it

Only because it gives them somewhere to hide and you can't see them!

Yep, just had the fourth humungous one this week come charging under the living room door (I think coming in the front door). Sprayed all round the doorframe and underneath yesterday with spider killer spray which is also supposed to deter them for up to 6 weeks!
Bollocks it does.

Pet Shield Spider Repellant is your friend! I spray it round the windows/door frames and any obvious entryway and I only ever find the odd dead one. Before this, always used to get about 5 or 6 biggies every September.

They wouldn’t come near with Indorex. I’ve found dead spiders outside my door after using it. Before all the spider lovers start with the “oh spiders are beautiful” shite and “I catch them in a glass” nonsense not everyone loves them and we all do what we think best.
