Makeup advice

I’m dealing with a skin problem on my neck (result of pre-diabetes maybe).

My foundation matches my face and body. But it looks like I’m wearing a foundation that’s too light if my chest or arms are covered, as dark sides of my neck contrast my face.

Any advice? I have an important meeting next week at work and think it looks quite noticeable when wearing a blouse so I’m not sure how to approach it.

I have no idea what you mean, can’t see anything that seems abnormal and I can only assume no one’s going to be focused on your neck?
Would a dermatologist help long term if this is bothering you?

I've re read your post a few times and I don't know what you mean. Your pic looks fine.

It’s those dark lines on the side of my neck. It’s not a shadow, my skin is just darker there. I have been to a dermatologist, who diagnosed me with this:

Acanthosis nigricans

Acanthosis nigricans is the term for darkened, thickened patches of skin in the armpit and around the groin and neck. Find out about the main causes and treatments.

You're obviously self-conscious about it, but it's not as noticeable as you might think. Stick to foundation the correct colour for your face. You could try a scar cover make-up on your neck, but I think you'll just add to the time it takes you to get ready and you'll feel even more self-conscious if you've rushed or you can't get it right.

Thanks! I am self conscious as my skin used to be clear! Dermatologist recommended dietary changes and moisturiser with steroid cream, so hopefully it will reduce in time.
