Lizard people

I have just walked to a station in central London and seen a few women in smart skirt suits and thick opaque tights, one bloke smoking outside a building wearing jeans, a flannel shirt and a winter anorak and the prize goes to one woman outside a pub wearing a heavy suit material dress, thick black tights and a long padded jacket. It is a 30 degree sweatbox in London today.

Are these the lizard people David Icke warned us about?

Yes it is. They are here in Penrith except they are wearing black quilted jackets pulled up over their heads and thick grey trackie bottoms on. Some have balaclavas on when they get on their motocross bike as they don't need the same protection as a helnet would iffer..

stbrandonsboat · 06/09/2023 18:42

My dentist's dental nurse is one. She's had the heating on apparently 🥵

Ginmonkeyagain · 06/09/2023 18:49

What??? That is crazy. It's 25 degrees in my kitchen right now.

I love the hot weather but these people are insane.

I thought it was a lot cooler today, mind you I've stood in a 40+°c desert and considered putting on my cardi.

WotNoUserName · 06/09/2023 19:02

I was thinking of starting a thread like this!

I saw a woman in town yesterday in jeans and a jumper. I was in shorts and t-shirt and so hot my knees were sweating! I've never had sweaty knees before, wtf! I blame that woman for making me even hotter just by looking at her.

Halo8 · 06/09/2023 19:06

Two of my colleagues were wearing skinny jeans and boots today. Definitely lizards.

Lwrenagain · 06/09/2023 19:08

They hide in plain sight without a single bead of brow sweat.

Damn lizards.

Positive41 · 06/09/2023 19:26

I saw someone today in high brown suede UGG type winter boots

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 06/09/2023 19:28

Perhaps not totally through choice, but we appear to be surrounded by lizard teenagers.

Walking near local secondary at kicking out time, I saw lots swathed in polyester from neck to feet, even though there was nothing to stop them removing blazers and jumpers, and the number of girls choosing to wear thick opaque tights

stbrandonsboat · 06/09/2023 19:31

I saw a uni student in a bulky acrylic jumper yesterday. I can't even wear those in the winter because they're so hot.

JaninaDuszejko · 06/09/2023 19:34

The school pupils probably had no choice poor things.

VeronicaBeccabunga · 06/09/2023 19:39

*embarrassed scaley lizardy shamefaced look
I go to bed with socks and a heat pad nearly all year round.
*bask, bask

They were well out of sight of school. No-one would have noticed or cared, and it was horribly hot.

And the girls could certainly have foresworn tights.

FarEast · 06/09/2023 19:46

I E been working in an air-conditioned building that’s actually too cold unless you wear a jacket or cardigan. 8 hours in frigid air chills you so that you’re immune to heat for at least half an hour when you leave the building.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 06/09/2023 19:47

The security guard in M&S today was wearing a big thick black down puffa today. It was zipped to the neck and his hands were in his pockets, though he hadn't put the hood up.

I thought he was shoplifting because it was the only explanation I could think of!

They won’t take their blazers off once they’ve been in them a while in case of sweat marks. That’s what DS says anyway. Plus if they lose them in the first week, their mums will go mental!

isthismylifenow · 06/09/2023 20:23

A good guess is that they are from the southern part of the world.

We've just gone into spring and it's been 25 to 29 degrees this week, and I had a jumper on today, until I got into the car which was parked out in the sun. I havent packed away the winter stuff yet, earlier this week I wore my boots.

Ginmonkeyagain · 06/09/2023 20:54

Ha! I remember going to Valencia one mid March and it was about 21 degrees during the day. We were wearing t shirts and jeans whilst the locals were a
still in coats and scarves.

They probably thought we were mad.

There's a guy at my work that wears quite a big jacket regardless of the temperature

I have no idea how he's able to in this heat

Yeah I get that when I go to Costa del Sol in the winter. All the British, German and Scandinavian tourists in t-shirt and shorts and the locals in their puffa jackets and scarfs. I suppose if someone from Alaska came to the UK in November they would think it was baking!

Motherofalittledragon · 06/09/2023 21:15

My dd is a lizard teenager, tracksuit bottoms, hoodie always zipped up, I'll never understand how she isn't hot
