What to buy from Waitrose?

I’m getting a Waitrose delivery on Friday. Along with my regular shop can anyone recommend nice treats or snacks that Waitrose does that better than other supermarkets?

Waitrose own brand baked beans are so good! Much better than any name brand ones and only 55p.

I really like their ready meals too but I know some on here are v opposed to that 😅

Edamame beans in the pod (freezer section). Cover them in corse salt and they are just like the Wagamama ones that I love.

Thank you. Great suggestions.

Everything that is Waitrose No 1 brand, especially

The chocolate (I like the 90% Ecuador but there's a lot of love to the Blonde with sea salt - posh caramac)
The cheese (all/any)
The Greek yoghurt , preferably the full fat. Will spoil you for any other type.
The Damson chutney in a small pot - just had some with toasted goat cheese and salad for tea
The boxed cakes - Victoria sponge, lemon lime drizzle, chocolate indulgence , coffee & caramel. Haven't tried the carrot cake one.
Free range sausages
Colombian coffee ice cream
The sourdough fresh pizzas

All absolutely yum

M&S beans are better (just like Heinz) and only 50p !!

I like things from their Levantine Table range

Also their own brand camomile soap and bubble bath

Santo Domingo chocolate ice crack - it’s sooo rich and creamy. Just realised it auto’d to ‘crack’, which I’ll leave it as 😅

Davidstow Cornish cheddar is v mature I’m obsessed, although I lower the tone maybe by having it in a white bread sandwich with butter and salad cream.

‘Nduja pesto is outrageous - none of this is COL friendly, but if you can afford to eat beautiful food then do a search on their app for No1 and all the fancy bits come up. Truffle prosciutto and their florentines are amazing,

No.1 cheese range, generally good (Wookey hole cheddar)
Frozen Normandy apple tart
frozen mini French pastries
Not Waitrose own, but haven't found it anywhere else, an American Gothic Lodi Zinfandel is my recent discovery, it's just so drinkable
raspberry panna cotta
Not treats as such, but things I buy often: Tuna pate (without corn)
Duchy Originals pasta
Essentials pasta is also v.v. good (spaghetti and fusilli)

Their humous is the best I have found.
Apparently the mussels are good.
Frozen berries.
Also like the Greek style full fat yogurt.
Plain crisps, much better than Walkers.

Own brand unperfumed soap bars, liquid soap and laundry stuff, if you can get it and don't like to smell of fake perfume. If you do, they also have stuff that pongs.

HardcoreLadyType · 06/09/2023 19:54

I always get a lot of their mature cheddar (no 6) and their Parmesan. It keeps forever in the bottom of the fridge, if you don’t unwrap it, and it’s much nicer than other supermarket cheese, or the branded ones.

That ice-cream is okay, but it’s not as nice as the Green & Blacks dark chocolate ice cream that, sadly, my local Waitrose has stopped selling.

There’s always some decent cheese and charcuterie, well, decent if you don’t have a local deli. And I also like the San Nicasio crisps along with the No 1 Cotes de Beaune.

Butterscotch chocolate, Waitrose brand, delicious.
