What am I going to do

I placed an online order yesterday morning. The shop doesn't have details about the extract processing and dispatch times. Do you know how with some shops and online they say if you order before a certain time, it's dispatched the same day.

I was hoping my order would be processed yesterday but there was no dispatch email. I emailed this morning saying the order is urgent and canni get a dispatch as soon as possible as in today for delivery tomorrow. I was assured this would be sent asap.

However I got no dispatch email and not tracking number. I feel like this wasn't dispatched to me yet.

I actually need this order and I know of a place, if I palace it tomorrow morning I will get it on Thursday.

I emailed the shop a few minutes ago asking them to please let me know if it was dispatched and if it's not dispatched by noon tomorrow to please let me know so that I can cancel my order and order it from somewhere that will send it to be before the end of the week.

What am I going to do? I needed this order for tomorrow. Do I cancel it and go ahead with another shop for delivery on Thursday or will I hold out that they will dispatch it to me tomorrow.

I checked online banking and the money is still on hold in my account. It was taken but it's in the pending section.

The postman is just after arriving to my home but there was no delivery.

I emailed the shop this morning to notify them that I didn't get a dispatch email or tacking number and I asked for that information but they didn't respond to me.

I need to know now of this is going to be sent to me now. I know of another shop with next day delivery and if I order before 2 I will get it tomorrow.

What do I do?
Do I cancel this order that I placed and go with somewhere that I know and somewhere reliable or do I stay with the other shop.

When I placed the order, the confirmation email went straight into my spam. I found that weird. A lot of the email confirmation emails do t really do there when I do online shopping. I checked the spam folder but there's no confirmation there.

Does that mean it's a fake shop and it's dodgy.

If you really need to guarantee getting one for tomorrow then I'd go ahead and order from the other place so you know you should get it tomorrow. Then deal with the first shop. You can always refuse delivery when they do bring it and get it returned to sender for a refund.

I checked their website. It says trackable deliveries with all orders via royal mail. I mentioned in my order on Monday it was urgent. I also emailed yesterday and I got a response back saying they will send it asap.

That should have been sent yesterday to be honest. I never got a dispatch email or tracking number. I do find it odd.

Usually in my locality I can get items quickly and often overnight. I can get a message from royal mail with tracking details and delivered to me the next morning.

I never got any of this with this order. This should have been dispatched from the shop yesterday to me but there's no indication that it was dispatched. The fact I asked for a dispatch email and tracking number and my email has been ignored all morning.

Thanks to Amazon, people now expect deliveries far too quickly.

No, not really.

A lot of shops advertise next day delivery.
The shop I ordered from there was nothing on their site about that. There was no dispatch timeline information on their website. I presumed the order would have been processed over Monday afternoon or Tuesday.

My issue now is that I don't even have a dispatch email. There's no information to tell me the progress or when I will expect a delivery. I emailed them to ask for a tracking number but that was ignored.

Really there's no excuse in the world for this. I should have had a least a dispatch email with tracking at this stage.

They don't need an excuse fgs. You're being impatient. If a website had no delivery times on their website I would expect it to be a week or two, not anywhere near as quickly as you're expecting it. A lot of shops might advertise next day delivery these days but yours didn't and lots don't.

CantThinkOfANewUsernameAgain · 06/09/2023 13:55

Sorry you're being impatient, Unless you paid for next day delivery or its advertised then you can't expect it.

Fwiw ive paid next day before and itd still taken a week due to RM issues. Its not the companies fault

midgemadgemodge · 06/09/2023 13:56

If they don't advertise next day delivery and then you were mad to expect a quick turn around - telling them it's "urgent" isn't going to make them drop everything for you

MeinKraft · 06/09/2023 13:57

If you really need the item then yes cancel the order and order from the other place if you can afford to wait for a refund. But you are being extremely impatient, fulfilling and delivering online orders takes time.

PerspiringElizabeth · 06/09/2023 13:58

Wow OP I think you’re in a bit of a tizzy.

Just order from the second place which will get it to you in time, and if you end up with 2, return one.

Xebra · 06/09/2023 13:59

Have you checked your spam folder?

VeridicalVagabond · 06/09/2023 14:03

Why did you expect next day shipping if the site didn't specify it offers that?

I don't really understand why you didn't buy it from the shop you knew you could get next day delivery from in the first place tbh. Just cancel the current order and get it from the place you know.

Growlybear83 · 06/09/2023 14:15

Can't you ring them to find out when your order will be despatched? I do loads of online shopping and wouldn't ever expect same day despatched unless the website specifically said this. Most companies despatch within two or three days in my experience.

anon2022anon · 06/09/2023 14:27

I think you're being very unreasonable. It's not the companies fault that you haven't received next day delivery, when it's not something they offer/ advertised. If I ordered something with no delivery estimates, I would expect a 5 working day dispatch time roughly, and sent 2nd class so another 3 days to arrive.

kipperba · 06/09/2023 14:30

Mentioning in your order that it's urgent will have no impact on the processing time. If you can afford it I would order from the 2nd place and return whichever arrives last.

kipperba · 06/09/2023 14:33

You will only get dispatch email when it's been dispatched - do you mean an order confirmation email? If you haven't had that then YANBU.

WhisperingHi · 06/09/2023 14:41

Why did you order an urgent item from a website that doesn't state next day delivery? Seems a bit silly to me.

Hounding the shop won't make a difference. They have processes and set delivery timescales.

If I were you, I'd buy it somewhere else then ask for a refund. But I'm sorry, this is on you. If you want next day delivery, the website will let you know if that's an option and you'll typically pay more for that.
