Pizza express party for 9 year old

So far I’ve only ever organised whole class parties (soft play/ church hall/ leisure centre type things). My DS is 9 soon and looking to have a smaller number to his party this year …

Does anyone have any experience of a pizza express party? Probably 8-10 children. Is 9 too old for them? Most reviews I’ve found seem to be for younger children. It’ll be mostly girls if that makes any difference at all - was planning to give activity books or similar as a ‘party bag’ and give them out if there’s any waiting around at the table.

My son did a pizza express party for his 10th birthday and it was brilliant 🙂

I went to one last year for our Xmas do and I'm 46. It was fun!

Mine did one for their 8th birthday with a mix of kids age 7, 8 and 9, they all loved it! It was the most stress-free party we've ever had, def recommend.

I did one in February for my daughter's 11th birthday. They gave me some invitations to hand out so I didn't need to buy them. We invited 11 other girls & they all loved it. The children gather round a table, roll the dough out, choose their toppings & assemble their pizza. The pizza is cooked for them. The lady showing them what to do was really good with the children. They were also very good at accommodating allergies & dietary requirements. The children got a starter, their pizza for main course & then I think ice cream for pudding. The one thing I was not particularly happy with was being charged for jugs of squash when I was spending a couple of hundred pounds but overall I was pleased, the children had a great time & I would highly recommend.

My DC have been to two as guests and they were a bit shit imo. Sorry. Two different branches. Lots of waiting around once pizzas made / while waiting to eat and just a bit underwhelming.
