Are there any (drinking) glassware experts on here ?

I have a small collection of lightweight tumblers, wine glasses and stemmed bowls, all bought from the same very inexpensive shop over a period of months. They either have a classical Greek key pattern etched on the surface or a more elaborate etched design. I know nothing about them. The six tumblers (one pictured) are much the same size and shape, the two wine glasses look like they could be Luminarc or Ravenhead, except for the pattern. I have two stemmed bowls, both identical to one another.

Are they collectable, worthless, valuable ? Do you have anything similar? Thankyou.

BTW, they're all purely decorative. Far too nice and delicate to actually use!

You wouldn't get anything for them. We have some very expensive glassware and no one wants to buy them. Plain glass is desirable in the market now. We were told we may as well throw them on the skip

A while back I bought a set of six Waterford crystal champagne flutes in pristine condition. They are truly things of beauty and the only things that never go in the dishwasher. I got them from the local charity shop, in the original box, for a couple of pounds (can't remember exactly, but deffo less than £5). Secondhand glassware just doesn't have a resale value, even proper crystalware.

Thankyou both. I have no intention of throwing them out as they are very decorative and cost me next to nothing. I'm mainly curious about the etched patterns.

Afraid I can't help with the pattern but I wouldn't assume they're worthless.

Foundbysashawilkins on Instagram is selling a set of five similar tumblers for around £74. She has great taste in antiques so you're in good company OP.

Thankyou Polpette. I remember my Mum had a few sherry glasses with the Greek key design, several decades ago. Perhaps they were petrol station or Green Shield promotional items ?

You should make yourself a lovely cocktail while you research their origin.

I'm a big believer in not saving things for best. I like to use the fancy plates and glasses whenever possible.
